Glycerin Soaps

Glycerin soaps can be clear or colored.  Glycerin soaps have extra glycerin added back in after the saponification (soap making) process.  Glycerin soap is a humectant, which means it moisturizes by leaving a thin layer of glycerin on the skin, which will then draw moisture from the air onto your skin (thus moisturizing your skin).   However, when exposed to air or moisture, the glycerin in the soap will draw moisture from the air, and onto the soap.  This may leave a layer of “sweat” or “glycerin dew” on the surface of the soap.  It does not affect the performance of the soap, but just the appearance in your shower!
