I am joining the fight against the terrible disease of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease is a rapidly progressive, ultimately fatal neurological disease that attacks the nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscles.
My brother, Kevin, was recently diagnosed with the disease, and is facing an uncertain future of medical challenges. He has partnered with Hark-ALS to raise funds for his many upcoming needs. Hark-ALS helps ALS patients to raise the necessary funds to meet their extensive medical needs, without taking a huge portion of the proceeds, as do sites like “Go Fund Me”.
I have created a couple of soap offerings to raise funds to help fight this terrible disease. 100% of the proceeds from purchase of either of these soaps will go to Hark-ALS to help people diagnosed with ALS:
I appreciate any support and thank you as always for your loyalty to my products.
Meet Kevin
I have recently been diagnosed with ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.” ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Currently, there is no cure. My family and I are devastated by this diagnosis, but we have hope—hope for more medications to slow the progression of this disease and hope for a cure.
I am being cared for by some of the best ALS doctors and clinicians in the world, at Temple Neuroscience Center for ALS and Penn Medicine Neurology. I am also tapping into research organizations and support groups to fight this disease and help my family and me cope with the many current and future challenges of ALS. I am partnering with a non-profit organization called Hark-ALS to help fundraise for the numerous expenses encountered by ALS patients.
Contributions from the Hark-ALS fundraiser will help cover significant financial expenses we will incur, such as home modifications to make my house accessible, a wheelchair van, and around-the-clock home health care as my condition progresses. I am calling this fundraiser Grace ALS. ALS slowly destroys your body’s muscles until you are unable to move, swallow and breathe without mechanical assistance.
We need Grace from God and others for those impacted by this illness. I have hope that continued research will lead to more treatments to slow the progression of this awful disease, ultimately leading to a cure. I am participating in clinical studies to help in finding a cure. We are fighting for me and for all other ALS patients and their families. Any unused funds will be donated to the various ALS organizations that are assisting families impacted by this disease.
Contributions to Grace ALS are tax deductible and qualify for your employer match programs. Hark-ALS is a recognized 501 c 3 charitable organization. All donations are tax deductible.
